Have you ever made an appointment with a medical professional, described your symptoms, and at the end of the appointment you hear something along the lines of "I sent a prescription over the pharmacy. Call me if you have any other issues."
Heath care consumers are left wondering, "What is my diagnosis? What are my treatment options? Which options have the lowest risks with the highest chances for recovery?" These questions are absolutely valid and should be addressed during all of your medical appointments. Our hope for you is that this never happens, but the truth is, it does.
We believe that treatment isn't a secret; it's a team effort. Atlantic Music Therapy, LLC assesses each patient (or group of patients) and develops a plan of care. Each music therapy session is designed to focus on the areas outlined in the care plan. Most of the time your music therapist will describe the "What" and the "Why" behind the exercise, and if you want to know "How" (i.e., "How does this put me closer to my goals?" or "How does this technique work?") we are always glad to share our rationale. After all, our patients are the most important members of the care team!
If you're ready to learn more about how music therapy can help improve your quality of life, let us know how we can help. (Please DO NOT include confidential information in this non-secure form.)
